Why subscribe?

Subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and website. Never miss an update. It is not only free but determined to provide benefits in excess of cost. That is possible at least in part because a newsletter of this sort from India is rare. India is once again receiving lots of international attention but there are few international correspondents outside of Delhi, meaning few outside of the political ecosystem. I will avoid most electoral politics to focus on business and finance. But because the economy is a manifestation of aspirations and accomplishments and failures, I hope that it will capture a broad picture of India.

Stay up-to-date

For the past year, I have been doing a version of this newsletter as an internal email for my editors outside of India. The intent is to note what has occurred over the past week. As sources I use what a read (a lot), who I speak to (many) and my observations (from train, rickshaw, motorcycle, and foot visiting offices, slums, farms, factories, markets and anywhere else I might not be entirely unwelcome). There is no second level of fact checking which gives me some level of hesitation since information in India has a way of evolving and because I have no illusions about the limitations inherent in every reporter. And there is no outside editing, which means, unfortunately, there are likely to be the usual typos and mis-spellings. Please feel free to comment, particularly if the facts or inferences are wrong. The goal of this is to be informative, not polemical. I have been given a ticket to see India, My hope is to do so clearly. I can promise to be upfront and honest. I hope in the process what I write is true. Help from the community that is formed by the newsletter and its readers is welcome.
